Fuck Yeah Fareed Zakaria

Some people will look at this picture and not think twice. Obama critics, however, will jump all over it. They will say. Look at that! See! He’s already given up on America! He’s reading books about how the US is collapsing! I’ve read that book. Its a great book. It’s called The Post American World by Fareed Zakaria and it’s not about the collapse of the United States. Its about the US being the strongest economy and military but the rest of the world is soon catching up. And we need to be ready for that. It explains ways that we can adapt to other large economies existing in the same world as us. We need to prepare for the day when there are countries with economies as large or larger as ours. We need to stay relevant. The book explains how other countries have great school systems for teaching their kids math and science. However, they lack in teaching their students how to think. The US is still one of the best places to teach people how to think out of the box. China is really lacking that right now. They only know how to duplicate what others invent. The future is not something to fear. It’s something to adapt to. I’m proud that we have a President who’s reading The Post American World and not something like The Secret…

Zakaria: Obama's foreign policy successes

legypsy:

All in all, it’s a pretty strong record. Which is why you actually don’t hear Republicans talking much about foreign policy on the campaign trail”

Inside Obama’s World: The President talks to TIME About the Changing Nature of American Power

benjaminlandy:

The Tea-evangelical base has been lulled into a false sense of security by the absurd notion that Obama is somehow useless without his teleprompter. He is not. If you’ve forgotten just how intelligent, measured and eloquent this president is, I suggest you read his new TIME interview with Fareed Zakaria. Neither Romney nor Gingrich are prepared to debate foreign policy at this level.

the only good thing about sunday is fareed zakaria’s GPS. this morning: an insider’s look into private equity, an interview with a famous pakistani politician, and finally an analysis of the arab spring and its following the eastern european post-communist experience.  nerding out.
fareed, i will always make time for you.
